Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn, born on August 19 1965 is an American actress. She also works as a producer and director. Her most prominent role is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick received two Emmy Awards in 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. In the final season of the show, Sedgwick was awarded the Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The show ended on August 13th in 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated to a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) as well as What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). She also starred in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), who was a speech instructor and educational/family therapist , and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish, and her father was Episcopalian. Sedgwick was of English origins. Sedgwick claims to be Jewish and has stated that she is a member of Passover seders.
