Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born on the 10th of March 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. Corcoran was among the first Shark Tank investors. She was a regular on every episode of ABC's Shark Tank. Since February of 2020, she's signed 53 deals with the show, with the biggest being a $350,000 investment to purchase 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 kids born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class located in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence, Corcoran's mother, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He moved from one job to the next throughout Corcoran's youth. Her family often depended on food delivery services for free from the local grocer. Corcoran claims her father was drunk who treated her mother with disrespectful and disrespect. Corcoran struggled in school and later learned that she had dyslexia. Corcoran entered high school in St. Cecilia High School Englewood, after she left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed several courses in her freshman year, transferred to Leonia High School. There she received a grade of D.
